programme
As we have a strong
belief that only thro'education a change- may be any kind-could
be possible among the uneducated, illiterate rural masses.
Formal
and Non-formal education
In almost all our service villages(more than 30 nos )in chengam
and Thirumarugal blocks of T.V.mali dist. Our animators have
taken up giving a functional literacy program for the women
and the senior citizens who have not been benefitted by any
of the welfare measures. This program taken place in the evening
for the convenience of the women folk with their co-operation.
more than 300 such people are attending the literacy classes
in all these villages. This a voluntary program, assisted
by our animators.
Legal Education
This is an essential awareness creating programme, because
the Whole lot of women in the villages are often targeted
and exploited in every possible way be the vested in tersest
and implicate them in civil and criminal cases. This legal
education in being arranged as training programmes with the
help of the lawyers in the free legal aid forum of the district
and other social activities of the area. People, especially
women are given the knowledge of their legal rights and protections
and the way of challenging any threats and problems in appropriate
bodies. Police officers are also participating in these programmes
so as to make them aware and confident , 20 such campus have
been conducted for the reporting year.
Educational
Assistance
This assistance in given by the Society
itself, with its own resource to a total no of 300 and odd
students in T.V.mali block and chengam block. Stationery materials
are being provided every year for those who have not available
any help from any side and who are very much poverty stricken.
More over evening coaching classes are also being conducted
in the area in order evening coaching classes are also being
conducted in the area in order to supplement their educational
prospects.
Health
Programme
This programme is carried out in two stages. At first we give
health education thro health camps with the help of doctors
in Government Hospitals and other well wishers of the society.
Preventive and curative methods for common diseases are highlighted.The
need for safe drinking water, personal hygiene, sanitation,
care for children and related things are highlighted. At least
10 such camps have been conducted in the dist.The second one
is an intervention health camp by specialized doctors both
from govt. and private for the benefit of eye aliments for
senior citizen diabetics and the disabled. The beneficiaries
are diagnosed, given medicines and referred for suitable hospital
for further treatment. This programme is also Carried out
with our own resources getting the service of the doctors
free. More than 2000people have been benefited in the yester
year.
Welfare
programme
we have established the day care center
for the aged in T.V.Mali Town. Than 60 seniors citizens of
both serve with one any social barriers benefit every day.
Morning snacks with tea, nutritious meals for lunch and biscuits
with the tea in the evening. Are served every day. Besides,
they have facilities for medical problems, routine checkup,
radio, and television and play materials for recreation. This
is a boon for the poor, elderly persons supported by the ministry
of social justice and empowerment, Govt of India.
Home
for the aged
The organization has also established one residential
home for the senior citizens where they enjoy all facilities.
With three time nutrition. We do counseling also for their
mental solace. This programme was started in the year 2004
with 10 inmates availing for the service. This is our own
programme and we are looking forward to Govt.of.India assistance
to nourish 25 inmates in the future.
Short
stay come for women
This is an essential service launched and supported by the
central social welfare Board-New Delhi. This home has been
established for the sake of deserted and destitute women and
the women in the danger because of family and community problems.
They are given safety, counseling and vocational training
for their-future liveliherd. The home also provides 3 times
food, medical and recreational facilities. Through the scieme
provides for 30 nos. more than 40 women and 8 children are
benefited.
Disabled
Welfare
In coordination with the District Revenue officer and the
District social welfare officer, our organization has done
a complete survey of the disabled in 4 blocks of T.V. Mali
district. On the basis of the data available we are planning
for a whohistic development programme in the area. Mean while
we have provided calipers, tricycles, spectacles, Hearing
aids and walking sticks to 25 persons on priority basis from
our own resources.
Vocational
training programme
Presently the organization has been vocational & skill
training in tailoring, dress-making, embroidery, greeting
cards making to 50 rural women in order to supplement their
income for the maintenance of their families.
